About Kog Studio

KOG Studio (formerly Kog transmissions) started as a dance music label by Chris Chetland and a group of Auckland misfits looking for somewhere to make the music they loved...from their Kingsland lair, they released over 200 albums and helped some of our NZ favourites such as Pitch Black, Conchord Dawn, Shapeshifter, P-Money, Scribe, Mark De Clive Lowe and Minuit.

Since then, Kog has moved into the area of creating music for all sorts of project such as museums, films, conference music,  and advertisements.

In 2006, Huia Hamon added to the Kog people and together with Chris Chetland started to expand from dance music into the areas of Rnb (chong-Nee and Pieter T) and further into the world forum starting to create quality Te reo maori Music. (Huia - Ngati Porou and Te Aitanga a Mahaki)

Kog works super hard with all sorts of musicians and bands (just ask around) creating quality high level production music with amazing Kaupapa of aroha, sustainability and anything anyone feels like expressing down a microphone and capturing it for the world to hear. We like honest people..so much, that we will discount them and give them presents.

We spend out money on gear..not bling..which is why we are still working today. Our new studio in Kingsland over looks the Waitkere valley and we love it...Kingsland you were good to us but so happy to have moved before the world cup madness!

Chris Chetland is now studying Evolution Theory full time towards his Doctorate (for which he received a scholarship) and Huia Hamon runs the studio with Regan Riri (Regz beats) on projects such as Tatou tatou e... and number 2 on the way!
